You may also want to invest in a disposable lint screen that doesn’t need cleaning because these screens are only meant for one use. Some newer models have an automatic or manual switch that alerts you when the screen needs to be cleaned, so make sure yours is set up this way.
Does your dryer make noises?
If your dryer is making noises, it could be a sign of a bigger problem. There are several things that could be causing the noise, so it’s important to troubleshoot and figure out the root of the problem. First, check for any loose or hanging wires or connections. Tighten them up with pliers or remove them completely and reattach if necessary. Next, examine the belt that drives the drum – if it’s cracked or missing pieces, replace it with a new one from your local hardware store. Finally, look at the drum itself for wear and tear – if there are any cracks in it then you will need to replace the entire drum assembly with an inexpensive do-it-yourself kit.
Do you smell something burning when you use your dryer?
If you smell something burning when you use your dryer, it could be a sign that the heating element is failing. The heating element is responsible for generating the heat that dries your clothes, so if it’s not working properly, your clothes will take longer to dry or they may not dry at all. In some cases, the heating element can even cause a fire. One of the most common signs of this problem is when there are yellow or black marks on the wire coils. It might also produce an odor that smells like burning plastic, rubber, paper or wood. One way to determine whether your heating element needs replacement is by removing one wire coil from the rear of the unit and turning on the power switch; if there’s no electrical current running through it, then you’ll need to replace the coil.
Are lint traps clean?

When cleaning the lint trap, make sure it is completely free of any debris by running it under hot water or vacuuming out the lint trap with an attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
